This review has been a long time coming (long overdue), and I can tell you that I want to be sure to take the time to do The Food Guy Catering Company justice! Firstly, Ben and Jess Marzo and all of their staff are simply FANTASTICALLY wonderful – know that you are in not only good, but experienced, capable, and kind hands. Planning a wedding tends to get crazy (even the “simple ones” like we were planning), and the details can seem overwhelming sometimes, but not once did we stress about the food (seriously, we just knew from the beginning The Food Guy had it nailed – we’d been to other weddings and events they catered, and we loved them)! They looked after my (now) husband and I and helped make the meal and menu planning a low stress, enjoyable process, scheduling logistic meetings when it worked for both of us! They heard what we wanted and liked, and managed to make it even better with thoughtful recommendations and making our ideas happen (all while staying within our budget perfectly)! All of this leads up to the food, of course! 🙂 I still haven’t heard the end of compliments on the catering at our wedding! Our guests were over the moon, and so were we! From the deliciously satisfying appetizers (can’t recommend the buffalo chicken dip and sweet and spicy meatballs enough, they were a tremendous crowd pleaser, and we still say how much we’d love to buy that dip to eat at home sometimes), the variety of meats, cheeses, fruit, veggies, and crackers was awesome, and beautifully laid out – then on to the salad (homemade, outstanding thousand island which we would also like bottled), and finally the main course with the perfectly cooked veggies, and the flawlessly executed Cheddar Baked Chicken (which is our forever favorite, and soooo so good to the last person served) and very much appreciated (and super yummy) vegetarian baked ziti! Last, but not least, the ice cream cake had our guests smiling ear to ear! We couldn’t get over the mint one (with the thin mint cookies spread throughout its delicious layers), and the peanut butter one is a legend in its own right! Luckily for us, ice cream cakes can be purchased at will, and sampled at local eateries, so inevitably that will be happening soon for us! 😉 Finally, the service was incredible! Before we could ask, refills were being poured, and attentive questions asked (their staff are the best)! Also, before you start thinking you’ll need to research bartending service, they can have that covered for you, too! They did an outstanding job helping us plan and coordinate everything that was needed for the bar (and their licensed bartender took great care of our guests)! Basically, you can’t go wrong with The Food Guy Catering Company! They can be trusted with your day because they care, and not just about the quality of their food and service, but very much so about their clients, too! Thank you for being a part of our day and making it so perfect! <3 You guys rock! We’ll definitely be keeping you on speed dial for any other event we ever have!
